Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use my wax melts?

Depending on the strength of fragrance desired, snap off one to two pieces of your wax melt, and place into the melt tray. Light your candle or turn on your burner (if using an electric burner) and enjoy your selected fragrance! For best results allow up to one hour for your wax to release all of its amazing fragrance.

Our top tips:

1. Place your wax burner on a lower level platform for the best scent coverage - as heat rises, so too does the fragrance!

2. Close any windows, doors or openings that would allow the fragrance to escape for a longer lasting scent.

3. Sometimes providing airflow through the use of fans will help distribute the fragrance around a room.

4. Smaller rooms are ideal as they will require less wax and time for the scent to distribute, whereas larger, open spaces may require much more wax and a longer time to fully distribute and cover the entire area.

How do I store my wax melts?

Wax melts are best stored in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and other strong fragrances. Polyethylene containers are also not recommended storage containers as fragrance oils may leach into the plastic. To check if your storage container is suitable look for a #5 'PP' symbol denoting polypropylene. If stored correctly your wax melts can retain their fragrance for up to 12 months.

How long do your wax melts burn for?

Our wax melts are made using the maximum fragrance load possible, meaning our wax melts can be used longer, and re-used multiple times before being discarded.

As a general guide - our wax melts will last for 1 hour per gram, this may vary slightly. We've added estimated burn times to each of our products under 'How long does it last?' on our product listings.

How do I clean my wax burner?

The quickest way to clean your wax burner is to light / turn on your burner, wait 1 to 2 minutes, and press on the edge of the wax puck to dislodge it. Be careful as the burner / wax may be hot. Once the wax puck has been removed simply use a cotton ball or pad to mop up any residual wax and extinguish / turn off your burner.

What is the best kind of wax burner?

The best wax burner for us personally has been the simple, but effective, tealight candle burner.

This type of burner ensures you'll get the best scent throw out of our wax melts, provided you only use a max 4-hour unscented tealight candle - as longer tealight candles may damage the burner and burn the scent out of the wax quicker, whereas scented tealight candles may obscure the main scent from the wax melt.

This doesn't take away from electric burners, which still provide a very good scent throw, provided they have the right wattage bulb! (recommended 40w bulb for maximum scent throw) The advantages electric burners have over a tealight burner is: no open flame!
